Open chords - A, E and D

Beginner

In this lesson will be covering the first three chords you will learn. These are E, A and D. The key thing to remember when changing between these chords is to use your index finger as an anchor point to change chords on. Make sure you are on your finger tips so all the notes in the chord can ring out. The first few songs you’ll learn just use these chords, and although rhythms in these songs may be more complex than you can manage right now there is reason you can’t play a along with a one strum per beat rhythm.

Songs

Wild thing – The Troggs

Three little birds – Bob Marley
